Today evening, I have attended for the inauguration of a photo exhibition called ‘TV Viewers’ by Olivier Culmann, a French photographer, at one of the local galleries in Hyderabad.

It was scheduled by 7.00 pm in the evening, but I could not be there at the time because of the traffic jam, unexpectedly too much today evening. Anyways, I arrived just at the time of lamp lightening, but I missed the introduction talk by the photographer.

I like the works exhibited by the artist, it has a painterly quality, and these works made me remembered the paintings of the renaissance artist, Jan Van Eyck, especially The Arnolfini Portrait.

Some of the images of Culmann’s can be compared with this 15th Century Flemish painter, Jan Van Eyck, with regards to the tones, colours, light & compositions.

Overall, I enjoyed the show and had a little talk with the photographer.

And of course, I shot some images right from the time I entered in to the gallery, untill I walked away.

Here are these. And don’t miss the show in Kalakriti gallery if you are in Hyderabad this week.

The more I am observing the life the more I am attached to it and enjoying my immediate reactions through photography. ‘Life’ is wonderful and lovely and especially the life in countries like India is indeed incredible.

Too many people, busiest streets, excessive contrast everywhere and yet harmony. This is just the beauty of India. I am really can not avoid being I live here every moment. Probably this would be my photo narration that will never have an end for it, as long as I am living within India and experiencing it everyday. It’s really a wonderful world.

I keep updating images of my every little visual experience of the life around me.

Keep coming to my home page to enjoy it, as much as I do indeed.

And please wait few moments when the application and images of home page loading in your web browser for the first time. Because it is such a lengthy story that takes bit more seconds to present before you. Bear with it, and experience India.

This beautiful market is situated in a small gloomy street opposite to the main taxi stand in Darjeeling, found very interesting as I was walking through this hub of nearly a dozen of meat selling shops.

Probably, I thought I had been to the place at the right time when it was little busy early in the morning as the sellers bring in the beef, hanging, cutting, chopping etc.

Back home in last week from my 20 days travel stretching from north west India to the north east India, covering few places in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Assam and Sikkim.

As mentioned in the previous post regarding this trip, I have traveled light carrying only the Leica M8(leaving behind my heavy Nikon D3) and couple of pair of clothes fitted in a small bag. In fact it gave me great freedom and flexibility to move around with the light kit, especially the Leica M8 which is very small and best suited for the street photography. Switching from Nikon D3 to the Leica M8, I feel that I lessen the burden of 2kg from my hand during the shooting.

When it comes to the places I visited, though life is interesting everywhere, I like the north east India most, and as well Jodhpur in Rajasthan, north west India.

As far as my photography is concerned, I have gained the higher freedom of expression, and the visual quality of the images are far more refined than the earlier ones. I found that I am becoming more sensitive and disciplined in terms of seeing and making images. And probably it is my love towards the life has made me to respond to everything I see and capture more number of images than any of the travels I did before. As usual, it is a great joy to experience the life and capture the same in an image….and after every travel I am becoming a man and a photographer……

I would like to share with you some of many images I have shot during this trip……

Like many commuters, I like to travel sitting at the window seat and observe the life that is passing by. Especially when travelling within the city, one can experience the life going on the roads and that too in the mega cities like Hyderabad, you find people people people and people everywhere, nothing else.

It’s been almost a month since I write my previous blog post. In fact many things have happened in the recent days and few other are going to happen in the near future.

What have happened recently was that I have bought an used Leica M8 digital rangefinder and a new voigtlander 35mm f/1.4 lense for it. And I have been using these in my recent shoots I have done in Hyderabad. This camera is brilliantly compact that can be carried anywhere as this is so light in weight and appears very small that no one hardly notices or denies while shooting on the streets.

Here are some images from my recent shoot in Hyderabad.

Pensive

Idol maker

Shooting from inside the bus

And more going to come in the near future, as I have planned to go on tour which stretches from north west to north east of India. I am going to quit Hyderabad tomorrow and will be landing at Jodhpur in Rajasthan where my trip begins.

This time I am travelling with a very light gear and not carrying laptop as well. I decided to be as light as possible which makes me to travel freely without any hassles.

Probably I will be updating about this travel only after finishing the trip and I returned home.

Here are certain images that I shot recently in and around my home for the same purpose….I am least bothered about the subjects I am shooting, but I am more concerned about how the visual experience captured in an image…..

Recently, I have been to Chennai and from there, I made a day trip to Kanchipuram which is about 75kms away from chennai.
Kanchipuram is very famous for the hand-looms and as well for the ancient temples situated there. I visited several temples and some hand-loom weavers during the trip.

I started making images for the sole purpose to satisfy my instinct for harmony, rhythm & balance…..it gradually became an obsession for me.
I have the quest for harmony, rhythm & balance, and trying to find it from my visual experiences, and recreates it in the form of an image……
